Designed For Nature: Garden of Nancy Deni

..
Beebalm, Monarda didyma, milkweed, Asclepia syriaca, and butterfly weed, A. tuberosa, along the sidewalk,
welcoming visitors before we even enter the garden. And by the way, "weed" is used here not as a pejorative.
"Weed" can be traced back to the Old English weod, not a category of unwanted plant as in the modern usage.

Obviously a well-loved garden, one where the owners have selected, designed, and tend a diversity of plants. There is a central bed looking quite ornamental with intermingled vegetables looking nothing like traditional row-by-row.

An intriguing trellis supporting more vegetables that will vine their way up.

A vignette, a still life, of bucket, colander, and a pale green Haws watering can.

There are decorative objects simply placed here and there to attract your attention.
A metal dragonfly (the real ones are happier with the water features front and back)

while this milky glass might make you think of ice. Or a spider web. Or a cloud.

Sambucus canadensis> Elderflower now, elderberry when fruit is set.
The flowers may be used to make a delicious cordial, berries to make jelly.
Or just enjoy the flowers appearance, and berries to attract various birds.

Today is a blue sky day. This (non-native) hydrangea looks as if patches of sky have fallen.

A warm summer day. There is water infused with cucumber and lemon, with ice,
for thirsty garden tourists to refresh themselves. This is my favorite garden for
several reasons: the plants, layout, diversity, and obvious love that goes into it.
